FAQs

Housing:

GGBC’s move to San Francisco and Drew School does not allow us to provide central housing as part of the week long camp. Hosting for the week with local participant families is one possibility for out of town students. Please contact us to inquire about this housing option.

Hotels and hostels abound in San Francisco, here are a few links geared towards lower priced options:

Instrument Storage:

Instruments can be stored safely at Drew the entire week of camp. Instruments need to arrive Monday and be taken home Friday. One day participants may also store instruments at Drew if participating in subsequent day’s courses.

What should I bring?

Bring your bass, your bow, a rock stop,  folding music stand, rosin, a pencil, and a desire to learn more about the bass.

What if I don’t have my own bass?

If you need an instrument to participate in the camp we will be able to provide basses to campers for the week. A rental fee will apply. Please contact us directly to coordinate this option.

How do I get to Drew?

Drew School is located at 2901 California Street @ Broderick. Public transit is possible via Muni bus line #1, connecting to BART one block from the Embarcadero station (Drumm and Sacramento St.) Other major Muni line connections to Muni #1 are #28, #43, #24.

Parking

Parking is available in the surrounding blocks in two hours street parking zones and at meters on California St. Paid parking is available at a lot two blocks south of Drew on Bush St- just past the Broderick intersection, and three blocks west of Drew at the Jewish Community Center on California St.
